Kim Alessi is the New York-based designer behind the luxury brand KLASP Home. The brand, that is rapidly gaining industry admiration for beautiful luxury leather and hair-on hide upholstery and home furnishings. Alessi holds great interest and passion for the pieces that she designs and brings her well traveled and keen eye to each piece. Her pieces have been varied and wide ranging. Often incorporating a mix of modern and traditionalism. She takes a highly individualized approach to each project and is most often praised for her focus to details.
Kim graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science in International Trade and Marketing for Fashion Studies. She focused on navigating the complex global marketplace of international finance, business strategies, fashion law, and market research strategies during her studies. Kim also spent six years living abroad in Spain, where she launched her first high-end costume jewelry collection. The collection, ALESSI New York was marketed and sold throughout Europe and the Middle East. In 2002, Kim returned to her home country and state of New York to launch her namesake jewelry collection in the USA. She rapidly gained equal success in the US market. Her collections were continuously sold at some of the most recognized retailers worldwide, including Henri Bendel, Nordstrom and SAKS Fifth Avenue and regularly featured in major publications, such as Instyle, Vogue and Elle. In 2009, Kim sold her jewelry business and began consulting for startups in the fashion and design industry, until 2015 when she created and launch KLASP home.
